Tesla Plaid Clear Bra Paint Protection Film PPF done at the Seattle ClearBra shop in Redmond Washington. This was actually the second Tesla Model S Plaid the guys have done in the run of a few weeks. The first one was a red 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid. Both of the Tesla’s had Xpel clear bra paint protection film and Stek Dynoflex windshield protection film installed. Both of the Tesla Model S Plaid’s will be protected from rock chips, scratches and sandblasting while driving around the highways in Washington State and on road trips wherever they may roam.

Xpel STEALTH

When the client arrived with his Tesla, it was a glossy grey finish in which he wanted changed to a satin finish. Seattle ClearBra helped with this by recommending an Xpel STEALTH satin clear bra paint protection film. With this installation, not only does he get the protection on his paint for a minimum of 10 years, but he also gets a cool satin finish that will distinguish his Tesla from all the others on the road. Unlike normal satin finished paint, the satin Xpel STEALTH clear bra is not hard to clean, is replaceable if it does get damaged and doesn’t take any special care when washing.

Not only did we install the Xpel STEALTH clear bra on all of the painted exterior surfaces, but we installed Xpel STEALTH on the interior carbon fiber surfaces on the interior center console. This will help keep the center console surfaces free from scratches that normally happen from daily driving.

Xpel PRIME XR Window Tint

To help protect the interior of the Tesla Plaid clear bra paint protection film installation, Seattle ClearBra added Xpel PRIME XR window tint. As Tesla owners know, their vehicles are mini rolling greenhouses and heat up tremendously on sunny days. This is not your normal shaded window tint film. In fact, Xpel PRIME XR is a ceramic based window tint, that provides up to about 80% infrared heat rejection and 99.9% UV rejection. This will prevent fading on the interior surfaces, while keeping the occupants much cooler when driving on sunny days. We installed 70% on the sunroof and 30% on all side windows and the rear window.

Stek DYNOflex Windshield Protection

To further help protect his Tesla Plaid clear bra paint protection film, the team at Seattle ClearBra installed Stek Dynoflex windshield film. This will prevent rock chips, sandblasting or scratches the wipers would have done to his windshield. This is especially important with all the highways around the Greater Seattle region, which are covered in endless debris waiting to be thrown at the windshield while travelling around. Also, with this protection installed, not only will the debris thrown up be stopped from causing damage to the windshield, but the windshield wipers won’t be causing scratches and hazing on the windshield. The film is designed as a sacrificial layer that will take the abuse and needs to be changed on occasion, as the film gets abused.

Painted Emblems

The final piece installed on his Tesla Model S Plaid was to paint the existing chrome colored Tesla badges satin black. Seattle ClearBra does this by actually painting the emblems, instead of trying to use vinyl, or plastidip, which would only be a short-term solution. The black painted emblems with a satin finish will hold up to years of driving and washing.

Timeline and Warranty

This type of extensive full coverage clear bra vehicle protection installation generally takes around a week to be completed. We do agree the installation can be done faster. This said, at Seattle ClearBra, we aren’t trying to rush along the jobs, working as fast as possible, to get the greatest number of cars done in the shortest time. When doing Tesla’s we drop the bumpers down, remove the taillights and trim around the windows, remove the emblems and side cameras as well. This allows us to wrap as many edges as possible to get the Tesla as close to a paint job look. This is done with Xpel ULTIMATE Plus gloss finish or the satin matte Xpel STEALTH clear bra installations. This type of installation is normally only reserved for full color change vinyl wraps. With this type of installation, we are able to confidently back up our installations with a full lifetime, no questions asked installation warranty, since there are virtually no edges that can peel or collect dirt.
