Toyota Land Cruiser Xpel ULTIMATE Clear Bra
Toyota Land Cruiser Xpel ULTIMATE clear bra PPF paint protection film installation done at Seattle ClearBra in Redmond Washington. Our client took delivery of his Toyota Land Cruiser from Toyota Kirkland and brought it to Seattle ClearBra not long after delivery. We had a fair amount of time to speak of the different options be it a full front or full front with rockers etc… After some time to think over the options, and the benefits, our client chose to do a full coverage Xpel ULTIMATE Plus glossy installation to protect his new Toyota Land Cruiser. The choice was to use Xpel ULTIMATE Plus for the full coverage installation with its 10-year warranty and self-healing surface.
Xpel Paint Protection Film
The benefits of a full coverage, beyond all panels protected from scratching and rock chips, is there will never be a need to polish the paint. This is because the Xpel ULTIMATE Plus film has a self-healing surface, that when its warm outside allows the film to heal from most minor abrasions caused by contact. This contact could be from your washing equipment, or careless hand, or item rubbing on the surface, especially on a black painted vehicle. To not exaggerate the self-healing, properties one can still scratch the film to the point of not being able to heal. This would be by purposely scratching it with a sharp object, or if someone tries to key the vehicle in an attempt to scratch the paint. The good news here is the Xpel ULTIMATE PPF clear bra will act as a barrier and sacrificial layer, very likely saving the vehicle from needing to be painted. Further to this the pin striping usually done when tree branches rub down the side of the vehicle off roading in most cases self-heal themselves. This would again save a good deal of time generally spent polishing out these fine scratches.
When it comes time for washing his Toyota Land Cruiser or any other vehicle with Xpel paint protection film, the process is as one would normally wash the vehicle. This can be in a brushed drive thru wash, touchless car wash or hand washed. We do always recommend hand washing, but it’s not required. One cavate to this is if you have a Xpel FUSION Plus ceramic coating applied, or any ceramic coating for that matter, it is always the case that your vehicle should be hand washed and never an automated wash. The reason for this is the harsh chemicals will rapidly remove the ceramic coating, thereby wasting the money or time you spent applying the ceramic coating, as it will need to be re applied much sooner.
An interesting side note is the Toyota Land Cruiser’s nickname is the Lando. At first, we thought the client was referring to a Lambo, being a Lamborghini, but upon the client’s clarification he was actually referring to the Toyota Land Cruiser in particular. After many years in the automotive business, it’s interesting what can still be learned from our great clients.
Xpel Window Tinting
Window tinting was not a priority for the client at present, although we did speak about the Xpel PRIME XR window tint series that will stop a great deal of Infared heat and near 100% UV rejection. We’d assume come spring this may be more of a priority and the client may end up coming into our Seattle ClearBra location and have the window tint applied.
DYNOflex Windshield Protection
Much like the tint, the windshield protection film wasn’t the focus of protection being done on the clients Toyota Land Cruiser he purchased from Kirkland Toyota. Possibly in time, once some sand blasting, little rock chips, or scratches begin to happen the desire to have the windshield protected will come to fruition. The DYNOflex windshield protection film is a semi-permanent installation that is a sacrificial layer that takes the abuse vs the windshield. It is expected that every so often the windshield film will be replaced to keep the view out the windshield as clear as possible.
Xpel Ceramic Coating
The Xpel FUSION Plus ceramic coating is a very good idea if you always hand wash your vehicle. This said if taking through drive through car washes or funds have you focusing on clear bra or ceramic coating, we would always suggest do the paint protection film first and foremost. The reason for this is the ceramic coating may last 1-2 years vs the PPF lasting upwards of 10 years or more with a full warranty through Xpel and a lifetime warranty on the installation through Seattle ClearBra.
